So what is an air intake tube, shroud, thing anyway?

One of the things I noticed when looking around the engine compartment was the air intake assembly. There just was something about it that didn't look right.
There's something missing. Is it important? I don't know but I want it fixed!

After conferring with my research assist, Google, I found a few forum discussions, this one was particularly interesting. (The MG Experience)

Since this hasn't proven to be a real problem I didn't stress over not having. However, after looking for some other miscellaneous parts I came across the Standard Motor Products DH2 Air Cleaner Intake Hose and located one on Amazon.com.

Installation was a breeze. Position. Cut. Clamp.

While I was at it I decided to repaint the intake and install a new filter.

Once I safely delivered the MGB home I was able to spend some weekend and evening time just getting to know the car. (haven't decided if it's he or she yet) This car is clearly a driver's car.
